IT’S ALL FICTION

We just watched a program on the Discovery Channel called MERMAIDS: THE BODY FOUND, which presented itself as a scientific documentary on the discovery of an aquatic species evolved from human ancestors. Great pains were taken to create the impression the content was based on factual events and material, but the entire production is pure fiction. If the program had been advertised as such it would not be so offensive, because it offers a theory of speculative evolution that is rather exciting. The program was well produced with high-quality digital effects and intelligent dialog, very realistic. Indeed, the program was intended as docufiction but failed to offer a clear disclaimer as such and many people were duped into believing it to be scientific reality.

The weight of blames lies on the Discovery Channel for failing to offer a clear disclaimer stating the program content was docufiction. No mention was made in the program description.

I dropped in on the Pukes room for about half an hour today and saw CFP twist logic like a pretzel. She was claiming that certain regulars were using double standards because they didn’t protest or report when someone came in using CFP’s real name as a clone.

That ain’t double standards, ya clueless idiot! Those people don’t like you and they just don’t GAF what happens to you. You expect people who can’t stand you to get all riled up over that stuff? Fergit it!

Sounds like someone is giving you a taste of your own nasty poison, CFP. You deserve it, so quit whining.

JUST RUDE…

While it is risky business discussing religion and politics in an open forum, there is nothing more rewarding and informative than a well-mannered, intelligent debate, whatever the topic. And so it was today in Pukes, a political discussion that was interesting, intelligent and vibrant and with no fighting or biting.

So the rudeness of a lone protester regarding the political discussion was totally uncalled for. If chat is too deep for you at the moment, just keep your mouth shut and wait it out. Your turn will come. The chat can’t always be shallow, silly and lowbrow, with nothing offered but goofy faces and chat shortcuts like lol and wtf. Some of the regs in the Pukes room are highly intelligent, well educated and deeply concerned about current events. Let them have their time in chat without making rude comments to shut them up.  Remember, they in turn tolerate your silliness and lack of depth.
